We have started working on this—basic extraction of these code assets. If you would like to review/provide feedback on this, please let us know.
It would have been nice if you've mentioned that this feature doesn't work in IE. I exported my prototype like 15 times with "Enable Generating HTML Code assets" checked and still not seeing the "Code" button in the player... only to realize I just needed to open it in another browser...
"It seems the question was more about when using the tab control, how does one export the content shown in all the tabs."
Yes. Yes indeed =)
I understand your current concept of exporting visible content only, the problem is, it doesn't work well with your tab control. The way you export screen states, however, could be a good mechanism to export inactive tabs as well.
Continuing my example, there is a workaround to the problem by manually creating states for each tab:
But that's tedious and very error prone. (You have to be careful keeping the correct tab selected in each of these states.) Moreover, it clutters the state tree of already complex screens.
I think it would solve the problem if you could create these states for the tab control "internally" (creating a new shared state each time a new tab is added, and removing it when its removed), hidden from the eyes of the user (I mean the Screen Interactions panel) but visible for your export components.
I'm kinda surprised you didn't notice this so far, but the poster is right:
If you have a tab control with different content in each tab (which sounds kinda usual), only the active tab will appear in PDF and PNG exports, even if you click export all in the UI:
The problem is, you seem to generate an image for each screen and each screen state, but not individual tab states. I'm happy to share the sample project shown in the video if you need it.
I hope you can fix this soon, I really like using tabs =)
